More than 70,000 are expected to show up at Miami's Bayfront Park, 301 N. Biscayne Blvd, on New Year's Eve, Thursday, Dec. 31, 2015. Grab a spot and enjoy the fireworks, which will light up the sky and the waters of Biscayne Bay at the stroke of midnight in a brilliant, colorful display. The 32-acre park can accommodate many participants, but plan to arrive early in order to stake claim to the choicest viewing areas. Many will start arriving around 6PM, when the New Year's ball begins to rise. Bring a blanket and picnic, or get something from one of the many food vendors who will be on hand. The ball-actually an orange (this is Miami, after all!) known as the Big Orange-will drop from the InterContinental Hotel, south of the Park.
At 8PM, DJ Tony "the Hitman" will start up the jam, and everyone is welcome to dance and groove to the sounds of salsa, hip-hop and freestyle. Other fun activities include arts and crafts for children, but be sure to bring cash as many vendors don't accept credit cards. It takes about 30 minutes to drive to Bayfront Park from Courtyard Cadillac Miami Beach Oceanfront. There are parking garages close to the Park and at American Airlines Arena.
