NFL Dolphins Football in Miami at Sun Life Stadium
The Miami Dolphins try out their new, hopeful players in a series of preseason exhibition games. Diehard fans who've been itching for some gridiron battles get a taste of what's to come in the fall. The Dolphins starting quarterback, Ryan Tannehill, and his fellow starters are looking strong going into the preseason as they transition from the rigors of training camp.
The Dolphins play on their home turf at Sun Life Stadium. It's located in Miami Gardens, about 15 miles from downtown. The Dolphins have been here since the 1980s. With its sunny, warm winter weather, it's a favorite venue for Super Bowls, hosting 5 over the years. It's also the site of the Orange Bowl college game, and home of the University of Miami Hurricanes.

The blast from the cannon known as “Touchdown Tommy” and a sweep of white smoke in the stadium signals the arrival of the Hurricanes on the field. This championship team has a lot to prove in the 2014-15 season. They'll take on rivals like Florida, Florida State and Notre Dame. Known by locals and fans as the Canes, the team has a long history of dominating on the field. Over the years, its players have been scooped up by the NFL, including recent Hall of Fame inductees Warren Sapp and Cortez Kennedy. The team has won 5 national championships. The last one was in 2001, against Nebraska at the Rose Bowl.
